Sand Castles Farm is now accepting reservations for a very limited number of chicks for a Fall 2017 hatch. This is the first time we have offered a Fall hatch and we are doing this on a very limited basis.
This will be for black only and will be chicks from our black only lines. There will be approximately 6-7 hatches from early October to mid-December, about two weeks apart.
Minimum order for chicks to be shipped is 10 and maximum per order is 15, due to the limited size of the breeding groups available for this fall. Orders above 15 constitute two orders and will be shipped separately and charged two shipping charges.
Pen #2 has our 2017 Grand Champion, Solomon, over 4 hens and Pen #3 has our 2016 SE District CH, Sonny and multi-CH AOSB, also over 4 hens.
I’ll be setting two more hatches – one this coming Monday, and one the following Monday. I have a few blacks that are available, but wheatens and blue wheatens are sold out for this season.
I will have a few started birds available in late summer/early Fall, as I choose which birds stay for the Fall Show season and next spring’s breeding season.

We have some great hatches so far this year, with two more months of hatching still to come! I am really excited about the hatches this year, and looking forward to the fall shows.
